I’ve been practicing Reiki for over 20 years. It’s helped a lot of people feel better, calm down, and heal. I know it can seem new or strange at first. So here are some common questions people ask me—and simple answers that I hope help you feel at ease.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle way of healing. I place my hands lightly on or near your body. The energy flows to help you feel more peaceful and balanced. You don’t have to do anything. Just relax.
Is Reiki safe?
Yes, it’s very safe. It works for people of all ages—even babies, pregnant women, the elderly, and people in hospice care. Reiki does not hurt. It helps.
Do I have to believe in it?
No. Reiki works whether you believe in it or not. It’s like sunshine—you don’t have to understand it to feel warm.
What does a session feel like?
Most people feel calm. Some feel warmth, tingles, or deep peace. Some fall asleep. Some cry or laugh. All of it is okay. Your body and heart are just letting go.
Can it help with stress or grief?
Yes. Reiki helps many people feel less anxious, sad, or heavy. It’s not a cure for everything, but it helps the body and heart relax. That can make a big difference.
Can I get Reiki from far away?
Yes. Reiki can be sent from a distance. You don’t have to be in the same room. Energy is not limited by space.
How often should I get Reiki?
Some people come once a week. Some come once a month. Some just once in a while. You decide what feels right for you.
Is Reiki a religion?
No. Reiki is not a religion. You don’t have to believe in anything. I’m a Catholic priest and a Sufi, but Reiki is open to all people—of all faiths or none.
What should I do after a session?
Drink water. Rest if you can. Pay attention to how you feel in the next few days. Be gentle with yourself.
How do I sign up?
You can send me a message through the website. I offer sessions in person and online. If money is tight, I offer sliding scale and donation options.
You are welcome here.
Reiki is for everyone. You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to understand everything. Just come as you are.
