A Path of Eucharistic Devotion and Marian Discipleship
Some of the most meaningful spiritual callings begin in silence — a quiet attraction to the heart of Mary, and through her, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Confraternity of the Life of Mary – Mariae Vitae Sodalitas is a devotional fellowship within the Liberal and Old Catholic tradition. It welcomes clergy, religious, and lay faithful who desire to live in imitation of Mary: in prayer, simplicity, and love of the Eucharistic Lord.
Through a rhythm of prayer, adoration, and spiritual consecration, members seek to be formed in the virtues of Our Lady and to honor her maternal mission — to bring all hearts to her Son, Jesus Christ.
🕊️ A Marian Way of Life
Those drawn to the confraternity are encouraged to shape their daily lives around the spirit of Mary’s own hidden life. Members commit to:
Wearing a blessed scapular or Miraculous Medal, as a sign of consecration
Daily or regular Eucharistic Adoration, either in person or via livestream
Praying the Rosary, along with traditional devotions such as Visits to the Blessed Sacrament and the Blessed Virgin Mary by St. Alphonsus Liguori
Renewing their Marian consecration on the first Wednesday of each month
Celebrating the Perpetual Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, when possible
Attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion frequently
Members especially honor Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, recognizing in her both a refuge and a radiant example of discipleship.
✨ The Scapular and the Miraculous Medal: Signs of Trust
Enrollment in the Brown Scapular or the Miraculous Medal is more than tradition — it is a visible and personal response to Mary’s call to conversion, trust, and surrender.
📿 The Brown Scapular
A centuries-old sacramental tied to Carmelite spirituality, the scapular is a sign of Mary’s maternal protection. Those enrolled in it are invited to live lives of prayer and devotion under her care. Mary’s promise to St. Simon Stock — “Whoever dies wearing this scapular shall not suffer eternal fire” — reflects her deep desire to lead souls safely to Christ.
✨ The Miraculous Medal
Given by Mary to St. Catherine Labouré in 1830, the medal is a source of great grace. The image reminds us that through Mary’s intercession, divine mercy is poured out upon the world.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta deeply loved the Miraculous Medal. When praying with the sick and the suffering, she would often place the medal at the point of pain and gently say:
“Mary, Mother of Jesus, be a mother to me now.”
She called it her “medal of charity.” In her hands, it became a channel of peace — a tender reminder that Mary still comes to comfort, to heal, and to lead hearts to her Son.
📜 Becoming a Member

💗 Why It Matters
Mary doesn’t keep us for herself. She always leads us to Jesus.
Through her hidden life, her acts of service, her silence, and her yes — she shows us how to follow Christ with love and courage. The Confraternity of the Life of Mary is one simple way to answer that call.
It is not about perfection.
It is about presence.
It is about becoming, little by little, like the one who said, “Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.”
“Mary, gentle Mother,
wrap us in your mantle of peace.
Let our hearts be formed in yours —
and through you,
let us belong more fully to Christ.”
With prayer and gratitude,
