LGBTQ+ and the Catholic Tradition: A Place at the Table

Updated: 5 days ago

If you’ve ever been told there’s no place for you in the Church because of who you are or who you love, I want you to hear this clearly:

There is a place for you here.

You are not an outsider. You are not an exception. You are not someone we “tolerate.” You are a full and sacred part of God’s creation. In our tradition—Independent and Liberal Catholic—we don’t believe love is a problem to be solved or a sin to be corrected. We believe love is holy.

I’ve seen people shut out, shamed, or made to feel like they had to choose between their faith and their identity. That’s not how it should be. You don’t have to prove your worth. You don’t have to hide who you are. The sacraments are for you. The altar is open to you. And so is the heart of God.

Our church doesn’t ask you to change who you are to be welcome. We only ask that you come as you are—whole, human, and hungry for grace like the rest of us.

You belong here. No one gets turned away from the table
