Gospel: Luke 10:25–37 – The Good Samaritan

Let me ask you a simple question:

What does love look like?


In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells a story that gives us the answer.


A man was walking down a road. Robbers attacked him. They beat him up and left him to die. A priest walked by—but did not help. A temple worker walked by—but did not stop. Then came someone unexpected. A Samaritan. Someone from a group people didn’t trust. But he stopped. He helped the man. He cleaned his wounds. He carried him to safety. He paid for his care.


Jesus asked, “Who was the neighbor?”

The answer is easy: The one who showed mercy.

Then Jesus said something powerful: “Go and do the same.”


That’s the message. That’s the mission.


Go and do the same.


We are called to love—not just the ones we like, but anyone who is hurting.

That includes the poor, the sick, the outcast, the immigrant, the grieving mom, the forgotten vet, the person with nothing but fear in their heart.

That means we don’t walk past. We don’t look away.

We stop. We help. We love.


In our ministry, this is our work.

We bring comfort. We bring hope.

We bring mercy—just like the Good Samaritan.


So now, I ask you:

Who is your neighbor today?

And how will you show them love?


Go and do the same.

Go and be light.
